More on Yaz, MLBers, VU football

The great Mike Yastrzemski launched a walk off 385 foot homer to left central at Oracle Park in San Francisco yesterday in the bottom of the 11th to lead the San Francisco Giants to a tremendously large 3-2 victory over the New York Mets.

Yaz hit a 3-2 pitch into the left central field stands and the crowd of 35,000+ passionate Giants fans, most of whom were still there, were sent home ecstatic.

Yaz, Tyler Beede, who is now pitching superbly and I will have more on Tyler tomorrow as well, and the Giants are now 50-50 and have won 15 of their last 18 contests. They are one of the hottest teams in baseball. For Yaz, that was his 9th home run and 27th Ribeye of the season. Mike was called up from triple A Sacramento in early June. The man is now hitting .259 and playing tremendous left and right field for the Giants.

The Giants are now just 2 1/2 games back in the Wild Card race in the National League, trailing only Milwaukee and a couple of other teams. The Giants host the Cubs in a 3 game set starting tonight at Oracle Park.

Great stuff from the man. The 28 year old from Andover, Mass. has paid his dues to reach the big leagues and is making the most of his opportunity. The Giants have become my favorite team in the majors. My daughter works and lives in SF and we want to a game at Oracle in May of 2018 and had a blast. What a beauty of a stadium with the San Francisco Bay as the background.

The Giants have a shot at getting one of the wild card spots for sure. Just gotta keep cookin.

Will have more on Yaz, Tyler and all our guys tomorrow on the blog. Will send out a notice.

Also, will have football stuff. DMase was beyond spectacular at Media Days last Thursday. More on Coach Mason and the team and our 13th commitment, a huge tight end pickup, who we landed on Friday.

Will check with you tomorrow.

Have a super day.
