If Nick Saban had gotten his way when he was at Miami, Drew Brees would have been his qb instead of Daunte Culpepper. Brees was a free agent after the 2005 season and so was Culpepper. Saban wanted Brees and Miami ownership wanted Culpepper. If Saban had gotten his way he may still be in Miami with a Super Bowl ring, maybe two, and not at Alabama playing for a national championship. Alabama should be happy ownership got their way.
