Iowa smashed Georgia Tech last night, 24-14, in what Coach Kirk Ferentz called "Hawkeye weather." It was 49 degrees and the Hawkeyes put on a power football clinic to dominate Tech. Iowa finished the season at 11-2, while Tech finished 11-3. This was a testament that Big Ten football is back to stay. The conference finished a very respectable 4-3 in the bowls and was 2-0 in the BCS bowls with Ohio State defeating Oregon in the Rose Bowl. Penn State defeated LSU in the Capital One and Wisconsin defeated Miami in the Champs Sports Bowl.
The Big Ten is imposing its will with its power football that is dominating, in some instances, the smaller, faster, more wide open teams. It's been impressive. Power football is alive and well. We'll see another power football team tomorrow night in Alabama.
