Alabama 57, LSU 38

The Tide can play some defense and junior Charvez Davis stepped up big time. Davis was five-of-seven from trifecta range with Mikhail Torrance and Tony Mitchell adding 10 apiece as the Tide moved to 13-7 overall and more importantly, 3-3 in the conference. I knew this team had some weapons offensively and the defense is tremendous. They held the Bengal Tigers to just 29% shooting from the field and one-of-nine from three point range.

Tasmin Mitchell led LSU with eight points and 10 boards.

Mitchell was two-of-two from three point range and Senario Hillman sank his only attempt. Mikhail Torrance was one-of-two. The Tide shot nine-of-17 overall, 53% from trifecta. The only drawback was six-of-13 from the free throw line, 46%. Need to improve on that for tough games in conference.

Still, a great defensive effort. Anthony Grant seemed very pleased with the defense and the three-point shooting. Mitchell added 10 boards. He is and is going to be a great player. Just a frosh.

I think the Tide can compete well the rest of  this year. They have great athletes who play great defense, and when they're on, can shoot it. The road is always tough, so they may struggle on the road some, but two good wins against Miss. State and LSU.
