2009 World Series

Looking for a terrific world series beginning tonight. The Yanks have a powerful lineup led by Derek Jeter, Mark ("Tex") Texiera and A-Rod. The Phils counter with Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Co. Both teams have great role players. Shane Victorino is an excellent center fielder for the Phils and Jorge Posada is a tremendous catcher and leader for the Yanks.

I like C.C. Sabathia and Mariano Rivera to be the difference makers in this Series. There always seems to be a dominant pitcher who is the catalyst for the winning team. I think Sabathia is that man. The Phillies have good starting pitching, but nobody as hot as Sabathia. He's just a dominant pitcher. Rivera is Rivera out of the bullpen, and has an edge on Phillies' closer Brad Lidge, who struggled during the regular season, but may have found himself in October.

Like the Bronx Bombers  in seven in a memorable Series. Should be the best since the Yanks and Marlins in 2003, which, of course, the Marlins won in a classic upset.
